What a coincidence! Today, my family visited Beopjusa Temple in Songnisan Mountain, South Korea.
We had no idea that it was the opening day of the 2026 Autumn Chrysanthemum Festival!
์๋, ๊ตญํ์ถ์ ๋ฅผ ํ๋ ์ค๋ ๋ชจ๋ฅด๊ณ ์๋๋ฐ ์ด๋ฐ ํ์ด์ด!

We didn't even know there was a flower festival!
In Korean, we have a saying for moments like this: ๊ฐ๋ ๋ ์ด ์ฅ๋ ์ด๋ค! (Ganeun nari jangnarine!)
It describes arriving somewhere and unexpectedly finding something happening. Depending on the situation, it can be a lucky surprise or unfortunate timing.

We arrived around 10:30 AM, but the main parking lot was already full!
“์ฃผ์ฐจ์ฅ์ด ๋ง์ฐจ์ผ!” means “The parking lot is full!”
There were so many visitors, even though the autumn leaves hadn't reached their peak colors yet. We ended up parking in a second parking area.

It took our family about 20–30 minutes to walk to the temple.
The paved path was comfortable for our stroller, with tall trees on both sides. Some of the leaves were just beginning to change color.

We also stopped for a photo with a cute Songnisan squirrel character. Our little daughter was busy looking at everything around her!

The temple grounds were filled with yellow, pink, purple, and white chrysanthemums.
“๊ฝ๊ตฌ๊ฒฝํ์!” means “Let's go look at the flowers!”
There was even a giant heart-shaped flower photo spot called the “Heart of Compassion.”
A cute heart at an ancient Buddhist temple? How charming!

Jini got so excited when she saw the elephant and little monk statues that she started jumping up and down with joy!
“์ฌ๊ธฐ์ ์ฌ์ง ์ฐ์!” — “Let's take a picture here!”
My little girl next to the little monk statue. How adorable is that? ♡
